Bipolar Disorders
Bipolar Disorders are also known as:
Manic-Depressive Illness or Manic Depression
This older term reflects the condition's characteristic mood swings between mania (or hypomania) and depression. Though “bipolar disorder” is the modern clinical term, “manic depression” is still commonly used informally or in historical references.
